On April 10, Professor Wen Bangchun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and pioneer of the discipline “Engineering Application of Vibration", visited the Engineering Training Center (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) for inspection and guidance. The leadership team and core faculty members of the Center accompanied the visit.
The head of the Center gave a comprehensive report highlighting the Center’s achievements in constructing a practice-based teaching system based on the three-tiered dimensions of “quality, knowledge, and ability", the development of innovation bases, and the cultivation of student project teams, as well as the preparatory work for building training platforms for artificial intelligence and intelligent manufacturing production.
Academician Wen Bangchun fully affirmed the Center’s new concept and progressive student-centered “engineering clinical” training and innovation ability cultivation system. He encouraged the team to seize opportunities presented by the development of the intelligent equipment industry, continue to deepen reforms in engineering education, strengthen interdisciplinary integration, and refine the cultivation system for “engineering-plus” compound talents.
Academician Wen remarked that introducing industrial-grade intelligent manufacturing production training platforms into the teaching environment and constructing ability training loops within real-world engineering scenarios represent a significant and exemplary role in exploring new models for talent cultivation under the “New Engineering Disciplines” initiative.
