On November 5, a delegation led by Julio Cañero Serrano, Vice President of the University of Alcalá in Spain paid a visit to NEU. Vice President Xu Wei met with the delegation in Room 1401 of the Main Building. The relevant responsible person from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office attended the meeting.
Xu Wei extended a warm welcome to Julio Cañero Serrano and his delegation, providing a comprehensive overview of NEU's development objectives, academic discipline structure, and international exchange initiatives. Xu Wei stated that the University of Alcalá is a world-renowned institution with a long history and profound academic heritage. He expressed the expectation that the two universities would rely on the friendly relations between China and Spain to advance practical cooperation in areas such as joint programs, faculty and student exchanges, collaborative research, and talent development based on their complementary academic strengths. The ultimate goal is to jointly establish a new benchmark for Sino-Spanish higher education collaboration.
Julio Cañero Serrano expressed his gratitude for NEU's warm hospitality and highly commended NEU's outstanding achievements in academic development and scientific research innovation. He expressed that the University of Alcalá holds high expectations for its collaboration with NEU. He hoped that taking this visit as a starting point, the two sides would promote cooperation in areas such as student exchange programs, mutual faculty visits, and joint establishment of Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions, thereby jointly elevating talent cultivation and academic development to a new height for both institutions.
